Alcester-Hudson Elementary students got to "slime" their
principal at a special assembly program on Monday
morning..

New faces at Alcester-Hudson schools
ALCESTER
– Several new staff members greeted students as they
returned to classes at Alcester-Hudson schools last
week. At the high school there are three new teachers,
and at the elementary school there are two new teachers,
two new paraprofessionals, and a new school nurse.

Falls called 911 Tuesday morning after opening a letter
that contained a suspicious white powder.

Woman, three children die in Jefferson house fire
JEFFERSON
– A woman and three children died in a house fire one
mile east of Jefferson early Tuesday morning. Dead are
Martha Yates, 61, Emmaline Scott, 10, Raymond Scott, 4,
and Mitchell Scott, 2.

Akron men sentenced on burglary charges
ELK POINT - Two Akron,
IA, men were sentenced recently in Union County Court to
20-year terms in the South Dakota Penitentiary for their
roles in several burglaries in the area. The pair were
arrested last March.
