Johnson wins corn yield contest
MEMPHIS, TN – Alcester farmer Ron Johnson was recently honored as a State Winner in the A Non-Irrigated Class of the 2007 National Corn Yield Contest sponsored by the National Corn Growers Association. The award was presented at the National Commodity Classic in Nashville on February 29.
Johnson produced his winning yield of 244.24 bushels per acre using Pioneer 33D13 seed. The 2007 contest saw a record 4,932 entries from 46 states.
