(Submitted photo)On November 17, Janelle O’Connor of rural Alcester was paid tribute with the highest honor given by the South Dakota Association of Fairs & Celebrations at their annual convention, naming her to the South Dakota Fairman’s Hall of Fame.Association members say that Janelle has continually worked to promote the Union County Fair, and over the years has reached out to the youth to educate them about the 4-H program. She continues to be active not only with the fair, but in the community as well.Her name will be added to the South Dakota Fairman’s Hall of Fame wall located on the Women’s Building at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.“The South Dakota Association of Fairs & Celebrations is privileged to bestow this honor upon an outstanding woman in the fair industry,” said Janet Lehman, Executive Secretary of the South Dakota Association of Fairs & Celebrations. |
