(Photo by Nathalie Torkelson) HUDSON - The American Legion Bergstrom-Bodeen Post 128 celebrated their 89th birthday on Sunday, March 16, at the Hudson Memorial Building. Bergstrom-Bodeen Post, named after two of Hudson’s young men who lost their lives in service, was chartered on December 30, 1919.Post Commander Fred Wood said there have been forty five commanders serve in those 89 years. The pictures of those commanders are displayed on a wall in the Memorial Building, along with the pictures of ten Gold Star service men from the Hudson area killed in action. Attending the celebration was Gary Watts, Department Commander of South Dakota, along with other dignitaries.Those attending the event were treated to birthday cake by Post members. |
