American Legion District 1 to meet in CantonCANTON – Legionnaires from Lincoln, Minnehaha, Turner and Union Counties will gather Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Canton for the annual District 1 Spring Convention of the South Dakota American Legion. The Legion business session will start at 2 p.m. at the Canton American Legion Post Home. After the meetings, there will be a light lunch served at the Legion Post Home. Participants will elect County Commanders and Vice Commanders in the District for one-year terms during the business meeting.
The session will also feature Post reports regarding the past year’s unusual activities, Post Americanism reports, a membership turn-in, recognition of the District 1 Legionnaire of the Year and an address by State American Legion Commander Gary Watts of White. |
