Timothy Steinfadt
Timothy L. Steinfadt, 56, of Onalaska, WI, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. Funeral services were held November 16 at First Lutheran Church in Onalaska, with burial in the Woodlawn North Cemetery in La Crosse.
Tim was born March 29, 1951 in Hudson, to Orland and Darlene (Vipond) Steinfadt. He was raised and attendee schools in South Dakota before moving to Onalaska, where he lived much of his adult life. Tim owned and operated Safety Systems for more than 25 years and was active in the National Fire Protection Association and the Fire Research Education Association for many years.
The simple things in life, such as camping and spending time with family or spending his childhood summers on his grandpa’s farm in Iowa, were most important to Timothy. His faith also played an important role in his life. Tim moved to Sioux Falls about six years ago, before moving back to Onalaska two months ago to be closer to family.
Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Tami Steinfadt  and fiancé Kevin Schumacher of Holmen, WI, Tina Steinfadt (Harold Gilmore) of Onalaska, and Michael Steinfadt of Eau Claire, WI; his four grandchildren, Jordyn, Mackenzie, Deantre and Alyvia; his mother, Darlene Steinfadt of Sioux Falls; two sisters, Cathy (Mark) Evanson of Carmel, IN, and Deb (Scott) Nielsen of Brookings; a sister-in-law, Peg Steinfadt of Sioux Falls; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1997, and his brother, Douglas Steinfadt, this past August.
