The 4-H program has a number of camping opportunities available for ANY youth in the area.  The following camping sessions are scheduled for this summer during June.
TEEN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE:  This conference is designed to provide youth with the tools to be a stronger leader by using activities.  This is the 62nd South Dakota Teen Leadership Conference.  The featured keynote is nationally recognized consultant and presenter John Paul Murphy, and is described as charismatic, motivation and a “10” on a scale of 1 to 5.  There will be nearly 100 workshops to choose from with two in-depth workshops involving Livestock Judging and Money Camp.  The conference starts Tuesday, June 3 with a 2-4:00 pm check-in and concludes on Friday, June 6 at 10:30 am.  Registration fee is $160 which covers conference fees and room and board from June 3-6.  Transportation is on your own.  For more information contact Kathy Reeves at 394-2236 or Amber Lounsbery at 387-4205. 
PERFORMING ARTS TROUPE:  This is a theater arts educational experience for youth ages 13-19 by January 1, 2008.  This is a seven day preparation camp scheduled for June 15-21, 2008, on the campus of Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD.  Those youth attending the camp will perform during the week, at summer venues, and at the South Dakota State Fair in Huron, on August 30, 31 and September 1.  Camp concludes with two shows, one on Friday evening and one Saturday morning at the Johnson Fine Arts Center and are open to the public.   Registration forms are available from the Lincoln County Extension office.  The registration fee is $275 and includes lodging, meals, snacks insurance facility rental and a show T shirt.  You must complete the Audition/Registration form.  Check-in is from 2:00 -4:00pm on Sunday June 15.  This is a CLOSED CAMP.  No performers will be allowed to leave after registration unless accompanied by parents.  Performers will be responsible for their admission and housing at the State Fair performances.  Volunteer chaperones are needed for the camp.  Send your information and checks to Youth Development/4-H office, SAG 126, Box 2207E, Brookings, SD 57007-2097, or phone 688-4167 and talk to Marian. 
CAMP BOB MARSHALL:  Character Under Construction is a 4 day camping experience in the beautiful Black Hills for youth ages 8-12.  The date for this camp is June 27-30.  Registration for this camp is $75, with $40 for camp the balance for transportation.  The transportation cost may change depending upon the number of attendees.  Registration is due at the Lincoln County Extension office by May 13.
