Schreur, Vreugdenhil submit FFA Proficiency Award applications
Alcester-Hudson FFA members Emily Schreur and Jason Vreugdenhil recently submitted Proficiency Award applications for State consideration.  Both application received high regard on the State level.
Proficiency applications showcase a students' Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE).  An SAE is a students work experience, paid or unpaid, in which they are able to apply their classroom learning into a real world situation, as well as increasing their knowledge base.  Students then keep records on their work experiences.  Some of the items which students record include the skills they have learned on the job, as well as skills they would like to learn, the hours work, money earned, and a daily account of what they do on the job.  Proficiency Awards then reward students for their record keeping ability.
Proficiencies are based on a students work for another individual (placement), ownership of their own business (entrepreneurship), or individual research project.
Emily submitted an application based on her work with Schreur Dairy in the Dairy Placement SAE.  Jason submitted an application based on his work with Ray Heeren in his Horse Placement and his work on the Chuck Vruegdenhil farm in his Diversified Ag Placement SAE.
Both students, as well as their parents and employers are commended for their work!
