ALCESTER - Recently, the first, second and fourth grade students at Alcester-Hudson Elementary School participated in an FCCLA project, “The Breakfast Club.”  The project was created by Lindsey Schempp and Mallory Schempp, members of the Alcester-Hudson FCCLA Chapter.
Lindsey and Mallory created a power point about importance of breakfast and they also guided the students through a Parent-Child Learning Activity Book booklet, “It’s Cool to Eat Breakfast at Home or School.  The project consisted of two lessons for each class and it was started in February.
“The Breakfast Club” was part of the chapter’s Student Body project.   Student Body is a National Program designed to help young people make informed, responsible decisions about their health.  It also provides youth opportunities to teach others and develop healthy lifestyles, as well as communication and leadership skills.
The duo will be presenting their project at the State FCCLA convention on April 27-29.  They will be competing in the National Programs in Action category and they have hopes of competing at the National FCCLA Leadership Meeting in Orlando, Florida in July.
