Girls relay teams take First PlaceBy Mike Kezar, SportsTwo of the Alcester-Hudson girls’ relay teams placed first in the Vermillion track meet held on Saturday. The winning combination of the 3200-meter relay team was Lexi Liston, Emily Schreur, Jessica Wegh and Sarah Haisch in 11:14.70. The winning team for the medley relay team was comprised of Liston, Lexy Schempp, Wegh and Haisch in a time of 4:55.50. The 1600-meter relay team was sixth in 5:03.20.In individual events, Emily Schreur was sixth in the 400 meter dash in 1:14.00 and placed seventh in the 800-meter run in 3:11.60. Alexis McConnell was tenth in the 800-meter run in 3:20.80 and 12th in the 400-meter dash in 1:21.80. Janae Wilkens was 10th in the 400-meter dash in 1:17.70, 12th in the 100-meter hurdles in :21.20 and ran the 200-meter dash in :36.10. Lexy Schempp was 8th in the 800-meter run in 3:17.20.In the field events, Megan Wood was 7th in the triple jump going 29’ 5” and 11th in the long jump going 12’9-1/2”.
The boys in Vermillion were led by the medley relay team that took 3rd in a time of 4:21.40 with Todd Anderson, Matt Schempp, Kelly Haisch and Austin Skoglund doing the running. The 800-meter relay team behind Eric Anderson, Matt Schempp, Todd Anderson and Kelly Haisch placed 4th in 1:44.90. The 1600-meter relay team was fifth in 3:59.20 as Todd Anderson, Schempp, Eric Anderson and Kelly Haisch were the runners. |
