Golfers open season at home

After several weather delays, the Alcester-Hudson golf team opened their season on their home links.
In a golf triangular, that was originally scheduled for the Par-Mar golf course near Parker, was moved to the Alcester golf course because of wet grounds.
Trent Neu paced the Cubs with a nine-hole score of 44. Carl Serck and Damian Schouten followed with a 45. Nathan Johnson tallied a 49 and Andrew Braaten closed out the varsity scoring with a 52.
Julia Brown led the girls and was the medalist with a score of 43. Lindsey Schempp shot a 53 and Leah Rommereim shot a 67.
For the JV boys, Tyler Vernard shot a 55 while Travis Terpstra shot a 58. Matt Koenig shot a 73 and DJ Schouten shot a 76.
For the JV girls’, Jayme McKee shot a 60, while Kelby Van Wyk shot a 64 and Michelle Havlin shot an 80.
