Cubs sweep double dual; hammer Flandreau, Chester

The Cubs wrestling team swept a double dual with Flandreau and Chester in Alcester last Thursday. Alcester-Hudson had little trouble in the two wins that put the Cubs dual record at 4-1 for the young season. The Cubs won 61-15 over the Flandreau Fliers and won 70-12 over the Chester Flyers.
Kelly Haisch, wrestling at 135 pounds, spent the least amount of time wrestling as he pinned Carter Ziebarth of Flandreau in 0:20 and pinned Tyler Neuman of Chester in 0:17.
Alex Merrick, at 189 pounds, pinned Sheldon Johnson of Flandreau in 0:44 and pinned Brenden Fedeler of Chester in 0:21.
Corey Haisch pinned Ben Christensen of Flandreau at 140 pounds in 0:35 and pinned Arie Scott of Chester in 0:33.
Carl Serck, at 152 pounds, pinned Terrance Elder of Flandreau in 0:33 and won15-7 over Dustin Anderson of Chester.
Darrell Oberg won 11 to 1 over Kyle Scofield of Flandreau at 125 pounds and pinned Austin Rowley of Chester in 3:10.
Levi Merrick won by a pin in 1:27 over Cody Reed of Flandreau, while Lance Merrick won by a pin in 1:18 over Tate Lacey of Flandreau.
Jonny Moumy won by a pin in 5:18 over Trevor Dietrich of Flandreau.
Brenden Norseen won an 11-5 decision over Chase Smith of Flandreau.
Alex Thompson lost a 6 to 2 decision to Jordan Rusk of Flandreau.
Sean Reihe lost by a pin to Adam Scofield of Flandreau and lost by a pin to Jake Busser of Chester.
Derek Schuller and Derrick Lundberg each won a match by forfeit.
In JV matches, Austin Heck won 7 to 6 and Casey Reihe lost 6-0.
On December 15th, the Cubs travel to Elk Point-Jefferson for a tourney.
